Jamahl Mosley has reportedly been selected for the head coach position by the New Orleans Pelicans on a five-year contract.
He was previously coaching the Orlando Magic.
ESPN first reported this.
Mosley replaces Willie Green, who was fired by the Pelicans following a dreadful 2-10 start last season.
In contrast, Moslett had an impressive performance with the Orlando Magic.
He led the team to three consecutive playoffs.
Nevertheless, the Magic released him, making him a hot name in the market.
And Pelican took advantage of the opportunity because its executives were in close contact with Mosley.
There are varying reactions on the internet regarding the new head coach.
“The Pelicans have added one of the most talented coaching minds in the league,” one social media user writes.
Another adds, “Mosley brings playoff credibility.”
However, some people are not impressed with Pelican’s decision.
“This appointment proves the Pelicans’ front office is content with mediocrity, which Mosley’s lackluster record has captured. How is this a step forward?”.
