Sony has scheduled a live event dedicated to its upcoming flagship WH-1000X headphone series for tomorrow, May 19, at 4PM UTC. The previous-generation WH-1000XM6 launched almost a year ago, but it won’t be a direct successor.
Rumors so far indicate that the new headphones will indeed be more premium, meaning they won’t replace the XM6 but will exist alongside them.
The report claims a price of $649, which is slightly more expensive than your typical WH-1000X headphones and features a new leather design. We will likely see a new name for the upcoming headphones called ColleXion.
Of course, in addition to the updated design, the ColleXion will likely offer a new set of premium features and better hardware. After all, Sony is very keen on these new headphones and it is no coincidence that it has dedicated an entire program to its new flagship headphone lineup.
