Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, is said to be feeling hurt after an alleged tense rift in his friendship with George Clooney.
Insiders claim that King Charles’s youngest son is blaming Prince William for the outcome.
For those unaware, Harry once admitted that he and Meghan Markle share a close relationship with George and Amal Clooney. They also attended the Sussexes’ 2018 royal wedding. Now, the source claims the relationship has cooled in recent years and alleged attempts by Harry and Meghan to reconnect are going unanswered or rejected.
“Of all the friendships that have bitten the dust since Megxit, this is probably the one that still stings most for Harry,” the source told Closer Magazine.
“He really believed that he, Meghan, George and Amal made for a great combo and it would be no exaggeration to say that he was counting on their help once they got to the States.
“Don’t forget, George was also being seen as godfather (to Prince Archie) for a while, there was a lot of talk about them working together for charity efforts and it seemed like a love affair for the ages in an entertainment and transatlantic context,” the source said.
He further added that being “brutally ghosted” is hard for the couple to swallow.
The insider added, “It’s very sad. Harry and Meghan have tried to get in touch both together as well as separately, but their calls have either gone unanswered or on the rare occasions they have received a response, it’s been a case of George and Amal avoiding them with some kind of excuse.”
Explaining, “Meghan is also very upset, and although they have not lost all hope that one day the friendship might be resolved, they are past the point of throwing up or reaching out. The cruel and sad thing is that they have no interest in connecting with Harry and Meghan, who have no choice but to end it and move on with their lives.”
Additionally, Prince Harry believes Prince William is “somehow guilty,” the source said. “She’s just not clear what reason George is using to justify what appears to him to be a ghost.”
The source added, “And make no mistake about it, Harry is really feeling humiliated by this. The guy was at his wedding and then all of a sudden he doesn’t answer his calls. It’s very painful because there’s no explanation, so Harry is left to fill in the blanks.”
