Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are reportedly being sued for owing nearly $2.1 million to contractors who worked on their massive estate in New York.
The couple purchased several contiguous properties in Lewisboro, New York in 2018, totaling approximately 110 acres.
In 2022, Lively took an initial step forward with the intention of building an “incredibly sustainable” family home on the land. They said they are eager to move in and live there with their four children.
The planned home was expected to have amenities such as a pool, gym and pool house. Approval was given for construction, although the design was later reduced in size.
Now reports claim that the construction has come to a halt. Several contractors and subcontractors have reportedly filed liens saying they have not been paid for work completed.
One of the largest claims is more than $1.35 million from a construction firm involved in major systems work including plumbing, framing and waterproofing. Other reported claims include drainage, structural work and installation services.
Representatives for the couple have not publicly responded to the allegations.
The report comes shortly after Lively settled a separate legal dispute related to her film it ends with us and co-star Justin Baldoni. The case involved claims of defamation and workplace misconduct, which Baldoni has denied.
Earlier reports also suggested that the couple had considered relocating outside the United States amid recent legal and public scrutiny.
