Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang recently explained in an interview how artificial intelligence could create an economic boom worth trillions.
According to Huang, with unprecedented automation powered by AI tools, humans can outsource mundane routine tasks, increasing productivity and helping them focus more on meaningful tasks.
Huang explained, “Our job is not to juggle spreadsheets. Our job is not to type on a keyboard. Our work is generally more meaningful than that. I have full confidence that AI will drive greater productivity, revenue growth and therefore more hiring.”
Talking about the world’s GDP, Huang said that there is a common perception of limiting the global economy to $100 trillion. But AI is going to change this perception driven by GDP boom.
“It’s likely that AI will supercharge $100 trillion to $200 trillion, maybe $300 and $500 trillion because there is no fundamental limit to GDP size,” Hunagh said.
The Nvidia CEO’s claims were also supported by tech billionaire Elon Musk, who supported the idea by stating “the truth” on his official X account.
At Forbes’ Innovator 250 Celebration on May 19, Musk also predicted that digital intelligence will surpass all human brain power by 2031, with at least 100 million to a billion humanoid robots in 5 years.
The SpaceX CEO said it is expected that the economy could double within 5 to 7 years as AI and robotics can dramatically increase output. And the future outlook is going to be very different depending on the pace of change.
