JLo just rocked the neutral heel color trend, which I’m recommending over black

My love of neutrals isn’t dependent on the weather at all – you’re just as likely to find me in head-to-toe black in the middle of winter as you are on the brightest day. But when summer comes, I sometimes feel like softening my styling a bit. That’s when I start looking for gentler, and arguably more interesting, neutral colors in my wardrobe – chief among them, deep brown tones.

Less serious than shiny black but every bit as elegant, brown has become my go-to neutral for the warmer months. And this week, I found a fellow fan in Jennifer Lopez, who swapped out the classic black heels for a sleek cognac-brown pair.

Finished with a lustrous shine that felt exactly like polished black leather, these shoes had all the sophistication of a traditional black heel, but with a softer, more directional edge. While black might have felt a little stark against her white and beige ensemble, the dark gray added warmth and depth without disrupting the light, summery palette.
