There are several “MagSafe” magnetic wireless battery packs available on the market. Some are great, some are varying degrees of disappointing. And sometimes, the tools are just a cut above the rest. These packs are well built, use quality components, and are assembled with care.

MOMAX Q.MAG There is such a power bank. It’s thin, it’s light, it’s stylish, and it’s good – in every sense of the word.
This is a nice looking power bank
The Q.Mag capacity is such that it will not attract attention at airports, and the CCC logo means it will pass even the tight security at Chinese airports.

The unit has a premium look and feels good in the hand, thanks to its glass and aluminum construction. This isn’t the strongest power bank on the market – for that, you’ll need something like Nightcore NW5000 Or dark energy poseidon nano — But if you’re looking for good looks, this is the device for you.
One of the few power banks that comes with a polishing cloth.

But there’s more to the Q.Mag And to keep it looking good, the bank also comes with a microfiber polishing cloth.
thin, light and cool
First of all, it is thin. In fact, it’s extremely thin, just 8.3mm/0.33 inches. That’s the thickness of a pencil, and it’s only fractionally thicker than the thinnest point of the iPhone 17, which is 7.95 mm/0.31 inches thick.
This is a beautiful power bank.

The bank is also very light, at just 125 grams/4.4 ounces, making it just 5 grams/0.18 ounces heavier than the carbon fiber-clad Nitecore NW5000.

On the front is a 15W Qi2-compatible wireless charger that works iPhones from 12 to 17 series, AirPods With wireless charging case, and Android handset with wireless charging. For everything else, there’s a 20W USB-C port on the bottom. And good news for those with more than one device – the power bank supports simultaneous wireless and wired charging.
It also supports pass-through charging, allowing you to wirelessly charge devices as a power bank charges, perfect for overnight charging. The unit supports all popular charging protocols, and has the usual built-in safety features.
The Momax Q.Mag

Q.Mag This device gets slightly warm at most occasionally during use. The Amazon listing mentions graphene heat dissipation, which wouldn’t surprise me in the least, as there were no hot spots on the unit while charging or when not charging (I’ll come back to this area in a bit).
I really like the Q.Mag I know it’s just a power bank, but it’s very well built. The device perfectly combines beauty and functionality. I’ve enjoyed using this when going out the past few weeks.

That’s why the next excerpt broke my heart. Yes, I needed to see if the power bank used graphene for cooling, and there was only one way to find out.
It’s time to look inside.

It’s time to open it
it was time to get to spit outBe destructive, and look inside (I know I shouldn’t use a metal spudger near live lithium-ion batteries, but I’ve been doing it for years). I regretted doing this, but it had to be done.
This tool took some time to get in.

I learned some things.
First of all, yes, the battery has a graphene coating. Graphene looks like black, but it is a form of carbon with excellent thermal conductivity and infrared emission, so it is sprayed onto metals, plastics and electronics to dissipate and dissipate heat.
That black layer on the battery is graphene, which is a great material for dissipating heat.

I also found the unit to be very well built. It took some time to get in, and a fair amount of sealant, adhesive, and thermal silicone to keep it together.
Try putting this device back together.

Plus, Momax hasn’t skimped on the parts you can’t see. The components used are top notch, and it’s well put together.
ZDNET’s shopping advice
I have tested a lot of wireless power banks, but MOMAX Q.MAG It is extraordinary both outside and inside. And at just under $30 (price varies depending on available deals), it’s a steal. You should especially consider this if you frequently find yourself in hot environments which could put the battery at risk.
If you need more power, Momax has a larger 10,000 mAh version. Same quality, more capacity, for less than $10.
