New reports have just emerged which suggest that the appointment of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor as trade envoy occurred without any kind of ‘investigation’ or ‘due diligence’ as this was the monarch’s wish at the time, as she was “very keen” to get her son interested in British interests.
The news comes via a written statement issued in Parliament by Trade Minister Chris Bryant.
He writes, “We have found no evidence that any formal due diligence or investigative process was undertaken. There is also no evidence that it was considered.”
One thing he made clear in relation to this was that, “It makes sense as this new appointment was a continuation of the Royal Family’s involvement in trade and investment promotion work following the Duke of Kent’s decision to leave his duties as Deputy Chairman of the Board of Foreign Trade.”
“The Government is co-operating fully with Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Thames Valley Police in their investigation into possible misconduct in public office.”
For those who are unaware of the details of the case and why the former Duke spent more than 11 hours in jail. What causes Andrew to face such a potential fate is linked to the reasons that led to his titles, his dukedom and his honours, being revoked, which is his association with a pedophile such as Jeffrey Epstein. But the current issue is more of an allegation, claiming he engaged in misconduct while holding public office as trade envoy to Britain.
Some people say that during this time he shared information related to Britain with Jeffrey Epstein.
