Legendary filmmaker Martin Scorsese’s daughter, Francesca Scorsese, is hitting back at online trolls after receiving hateful comments about her appearance on social media.
Martin’s 26-year-old daughter is facing intense criticism after reposting the news that she landed the role in season two of Mr. & Mrs. Smith, in a video shared to her TikTok account.
“It has some of the worst comments I’ve ever seen about me,” Francesca said in the clip.
Despite facing criticism for being a “Napo baby” throughout her life, Francesca admitted that these comments were too personal and hurtful.
The aspiring actress explained, “I understand. I know there are doors open for me. Like, I’m still trying to work, I’m still working hard and being passionate and creating and doing work.”
Apart from this, he also took on people spreading negativity online. “But I think if you watch videos of people and look for negativity, you’re a very, very sad person.”
The actress revealed that people used to call her “fat”, “ugly”, compared her to a “fridge” and even called her “Miss Piggy”.
Francesca added, “I get it – I’m not the most beautiful girl in the world. I’m not the thinnest girl in the whole world. I’m chubby, I know that. But, what does it matter?”
He said that this negative behavior on social media can have a huge impact on people’s mental health.
“This is the thing that causes people to lose their lives, like, there’s power behind your words,” Francesca shared.
It is worth mentioning that Martin welcomed Francesca as his second wife at the age of 56 and called her “a special blessing” in his life.
He is also the father of two older daughters, Kathy, 60, and Dominica, 49, whom he welcomed with ex-wives Laraine Marie Brennan and Julia Cameron, respectively.
