According to a new report from Notorious ice universe According to a tipster on Weibo, Samsung is planning to change the naming scheme of its next-generation Galaxy Z foldable lineup. This change is probably due to the new Galaxy Z member, which is often referred to as the “Galaxy Z Fold Wide” on the web.
You’ve probably already heard about the Galaxy Z Fold Wide – a new Samsung foldable that aims to go up against the upcoming iPhone Ultra and a series of other Android foldables with wider aspect ratios. Well, “Galaxy Z Fold Wide” won’t be the official name of the device. It will be called “Galaxy Z Fold8”.
As for the regular Fold, the “Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra” will be the spiritual successor to the Galaxy Z Fold7. As the name and leaks suggest, the Z Fold8 Ultra will be a higher-end foldable than the regular, now wider, Galaxy Z Fold8.
For example, the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra is expected to offer better hardware than the Z Fold7 such as a larger 5,000 mAh battery and a better triple-camera setup.
All three foldables, the Galaxy Z Fold8, Z Fold8 Ultra, and Z Flip8, are expected to launch in July, which is the usual time for the second Galaxy Unpacked event each year.
