TL;DR
- Samsung has released the second One UI 9 beta for the Galaxy S26 series just two weeks after the first, moving much faster than the One UI 8.5 rollout.
- The 1,680MB update (Firmware ZZEQ) includes the June 5, 2026 security patch and fixes major issues related to the lock screen, routine apps, system status bar, and bulk message deletion.
- Currently live in the UK and South Korea, the update will come to the US and Germany soon, with the beta program expected to expand to India and Poland.
Samsung is moving forward with One UI 9 at a much faster pace than One UI 8.5. The first One UI 9 beta for the Galaxy S26 series arrived about two weeks ago, and now, we are already on the second One UI 9 beta.
We have received the second One UI 9 update on our Galaxy S26 Ultra in the UK. This update comes with a firmware version ending on ZZEQ, June 5, 2026 security patch and is 1,680MB in size. Of course, it is based on Android 17.

The changelog for the update notes that the following bugs have been fixed:
- GPUWatch interruption popup issue fixed
- Fixed issue with Routines app not working
- Status bar display error improved
- Fixed an error where the lock screen clock font did not change in Lockstar installation state.
- Improved the delay issue when deleting a large number of messages
- Improved the issue where the lock screen clock moves down slowly
- Better Game Booster entry point setting error
The update is live in the UK and South Korea, and should also be available in other One UI 9 beta regions like the US and Germany soon. With this second update, we are also expecting the expansion of the One UI 9 beta program to second-wave regions, namely India and Poland.
