TL;DR
- The new UI of Google Wallet continues to be released, and users’ opinions are divided.
- While some people appreciate the new UI, others are upset that it hides what they have, requires extra taps to access options, and shrinks the logo.
- The rollout of the new design has also been slow, leaving many users wondering when they will get the update.
The updated UI of Google Wallet started rolling out last month. While our team’s Joe Maring really liked the new UI, aside from a few minor niggles, it seems the new design isn’t everyone’s cup of tea.

The new Wallet UI also removes the list of all passes from the home screen and replaces the full-width passes with a two-column design. This shows only passes that you have starred.
Additionally, viewing all your passes now requires two additional taps. First, on the “See more” option on the home screen, and then on the “See more nearby” option. While there are some users happy with this new arrangementSaying This helps them find nearby quickly, Other Are frustrated by the additional steps required To see all pass.

Another issue that users pointing out With search bar. The new UI includes a search option that lets you view your transactions. This sounds great, but since the option is not available on the home screen, it may not be the best UX decision on the company’s part. To access the new option, you first need to tap the “See More” button on the home screen.
Like most Google rollouts, the new Wallet UI is also a server-side update that has been in the works for some time and has not reached all users. However, it seems like the rollout is expanding every day. If the new UI is not displaying for you, you can try force closing the Wallet app. Barring that, there’s really nothing else to do except wait patiently.
