The highest degree someone can earn in a field of study is a doctorate. But education is not the true measure of intelligence. There are a lot of stupid people with doctoral degrees, and there are a lot of uneducated men and women who are intelligent.
Intelligence is not the same as academic learning. Intelligence not only understands many things but also knows how to interpret what is felt and how to use that knowledge wisely.
Intelligence is a way of life, while knowledge may be little more than a collection of data. Computer programs can store more data than our brain can. But computers cannot be intelligent. Wisdom is not mere knowledge. This also includes “information”.
In the Book of Proverbs, Wisdom is portrayed as an ideal woman who brings life, peace, and blessings to all who seek her. When you have found wisdom, you will know what to say and how best to think and live. You will understand how things happened. You will understand what is right and how to avoid doing what is wrong.
Why would a man be satisfied with ignorance or foolishness when he can receive the beautiful gifts of knowledge? Wisdom is found in listening to God’s Word, deeply pondering its teachings, and learning from other wise believers.
True knowledge leads to true God. Jesus said, “No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6). True knowledge finds the source of all knowledge.
