Travis Kelce says he’s always happy to bring fiancée Taylor Swift to his hometown of Cleveland, Ohio.
The Kansas City Chiefs star recently visited Cleveland with Swift to watch the Cleveland Cavaliers play against the New York Knicks.
Looking back during a recent podcast new heightsWhich he hosts with brother Jason Kelce, Travis said he loves showing Swift where he grew up.
“Bringing Tay back to Cleveland and showing him his roots is always something I love to do,” Travis said during the Wednesday, May 27 episode.
Jason later asked if she had shown Swift her old neighborhood, Cleveland Heights.
Travis joked that of course they showed him “The Heights”, but admitted that they didn’t have enough time during this trip since they were mainly there for the basketball game.
He said, “Not this time, not this time. We have come strictly for the game this time.”
The NFL player also said that returning to Cleveland was always important to him because he grew up supporting the city’s sports teams. “We’re die-hard Cleveland sports fans,” he said.
Travis also denied rumors that he was trying to convert Swift into a Cleveland sports pro. “It was me just having a fun date night, knowing that I love going to basketball games.”
Travis also thought about attending tennis matches, baseball games and other sporting events together.
“I like bringing that into the world of sports that I appreciate,” Travis said. “That’s why you’ve seen us at US Open tennis matches. I’ve seen him at other baseball games… I just enjoy making him experience the joy I always have.”
The athlete also responded to online jokes claiming he was sleeping during the Cavaliers game. Travis reported that he was unable to sleep but was disappointed because Cleveland was losing.
“The Knicks f****** couldn’t miss a single good shot in the fourth quarter,” Travis complained. “I just wanted them to move on.”
