With its continued push into the European markets, Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer BYD recently announced a new model for buyers in the region, this time aimed at the B-segment. we are talking dolphin g dm-iWhich runs on BYD’s super hybrid technology.
Measuring only 4.16 meters long and 1.825 meters wide, the Dolphin G DM-i is designed to be practical enough for families after a proper compact vehicle for everyday commuting etc. BYD says its super hybrid with DM technology is capable of delivering an “EV driving experience” thanks to the front-mounted electric motor. Being a hybrid vehicle, BYD says it can reach a range of 621 miles (1000 km) on a single full charge and with a full tank of gas. BYD Executive Vice President Stella Li comments:
The European B-segment is one of the most important parts of the market, and with the Dolphin G DM-i, we want to redefine what customers can expect from a compact car in the electric age. By bringing long electric range, intelligent hybrid technology and advanced digital features into an accessible compact vehicle, we are making sustainable mobility smarter, more practical and available to many people across Europe.
Having said all that, the Dolphin G DM-i will go on sale in Europe in the coming weeks, and BYD is expected to announce more technical details and specifications soon.
