Infinix’s fashionable Hot 70 series has just started its global journey, and we’ve got the inaugural device, the Hot 70, in the office and we’re looking forward to the unboxing.
The Infinix Hot 70 comes with a color-matching frame bumper, a 45W charger with a USB-A plug, USB-C earbuds, and a nice case with the phone.
Our color is Thermo Orange, but also Green Texture, Cool Purple, Dive Blue, Silver Dancer and Night Pulse. The orange model’s sleeved heat-reactive rear panel has a neat trick – it gets darker when it’s cold, and bright when it’s hot. More on that in a sec.
Infinix’s hot phones usually impress with thin and light bodies, and the 70 follows that trend. It measures 7.5 mm and weighs a little less than 200 grams. Impressively, it has an additional customizable button on the side and a 6,000mAh battery inside.
The buttons have excellent tactility and press firmly. The extra button stands out with its orange color and textured surface.
The Hot 70 feels very slim and sophisticated in the hands. The almost flush camera system is also refreshing in a world full of raised camera islands.

We tried to convince Thermo Orange Hot 70 to give us a color changing show, but he was in no mood. In the shots below, the phone on the left was chilled in the freezer for 5 minutes, while the phone on the right was left on a sun-drenched surface (in 27°C/80.6°F weather) for 20 minutes. We can almost see a difference, but it’s beyond subtle.
Do you notice any difference when the phone case is cold (left), and when it is hot (right)?
The 6.78-inch IPS LCD upfront is decently bright and fluid at 120Hz. However, the 720p resolution is spread very thinly on a canvas of approximately 7 inches. You may notice some graininess in small details like text. There is some definite corner-cutting here. This is to be expected when you are competing for a more affordable price. Unfortunately, we still have no idea how much the Hot 70 will cost. But still expect competitive pricing.
