Former Duke of York Andrew was Sarah Ferguson’s ‘calling card for money’, a royal expert has claimed.
Royal expert Andrew Looney has also revealed the main reason why the former couple stayed together for decades, despite formally separating in 1992 and divorcing in 1996.
The expert said Andrew and Sarah, once described as the “happiest divorced couple” – were like “Bonnie and Clyde”, bound by scandal, chaos and nonstop drama.
“The reason they’re together is because of a professional business relationship,” he said, adding, “I describe them as Bonnie and Clyde.”
talking to fox news digital, Lonnie said, “That was his calling card for money, and I think he probably had an emotional loyalty to her. Of course, she was one of the last people to be loyal to him and support him. And I think he felt grateful for that.”
“He’s kind of a playboy, but he also likes the comfort of being a married man with a family,” the expert said.
Looney said, “And so, they got the best of both worlds – at least the perception that they were a happy family while still being completely independent.”
Sarah and Andrew lived in a very big house, he said, “so they were at opposite ends.”
Lonnie alleged, “They were more business partners than a couple. I think a lot of the romance was gone. They had affairs even during the marriage. So I don’t think there was any great sense of fidelity, so to speak.”
