The 39-year-old actress and Ariana starred together in Money-Spinning Wicked film franchise, and Cynthia have revealed that despite speculation to the contrary, they remain close friends.
London-born star who played Elphaba Wicked movies, told Diversity, “I think people didn’t really believe that we were actually friends. But that’s also because people don’t know me very well. If I’m friends, I’m friends. If I’m not, I’m not.”

Cynthia previously revealed that she “made a deal” with Ariana before filming the Wicked films.
The actress explained that they are “committed to protecting and caring for each other” through their Wicked experience.
In his book, Simply More: A Book for Everyone Who’s Been Told They’re Too Much“Before Wicked actually started, Ariana and I made a pact with each other,” Cynthia explained.
“We are committed to protecting and caring for each other through this process. We often hear how female co-stars – or really, any co-stars – sometimes let their egos get in the way until they end up fighting with each other, which destroys the creative process for everyone involved. We were determined to do the opposite,” it further mentions Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande’s friendship.
