late in the evening, sammobile A rumor was spotted on X that suggested Samsung is already working on a One UI 9 Watch. Rumors from tipster Tony Tech claim that “Samsung is preparing the first beta of One UI Watch 9.0.” This new software is supposed to brighten health metrics. There was little to discuss; However, the tipster claims that these metrics may receive “optimizations” for the bioactive sensor, something the Galaxy Watch 8 also has.
Additionally, the addition of these optimized metrics will make Galaxy AI integration for Galaxy Watch even larger and broader. In addition to “more advanced AI capabilities,” the tipster claims Samsung is developing “health reports and smart insights.” It seems that the company wants to make important the health data it records throughout the day.
X Post presents this development as one that can give users meaningful health support and information rather than just showing numbers. We have seen this approach taken by others before (Think Fitbit and its Health Coach). Apart from the rumor, there is no confirmed date as to when Samsung watches will be able to arrive on their respective Wear OS 7 (Android 17) betas.

If we look at Samsung’s recent history, perhaps it’s not so strange to expect a One UI 9 Watch beta. Rumors about its OS 8.0 Watch beta Started around May last year; However, it seems like we’re a little behind this time in the year. There was a little more insight into those reports, suggesting Gemini Action, Now Bar and more – most of which we’ve received and others on our Galaxy Watch 8 as well. Samsung quickly introduced new software, then turned its attention to 2024’s Galaxy Watch Ultra.
The One UI 9 Watch is expected to feature Google’s Wear OS 7 software. The company showcased most of the things related to this new OS during I/O 2026. Google is working on live updates for deliveries, sports scores, and rides. Thanks to Gemini Intelligence, users with Wear OS 7 can automate tasks right from their wrist. Subtle optimizations are geared towards increasing the watches’ battery life, while Google has also developed a more integrated workout tracking system.

It’s still early days, so there’s not much to sort out. Perhaps the most interesting thing is the rumored health information from Samsung. If we’re on the verge of getting more actionable information about our health data, it feels good. Fitbit is moving down that path (now… Google Health app). If I’m not mistaken, Ora has also been growing its health data, but it has always been significantly faster.
