Since 2019, Samsung Gallery has relied on Microsoft’s OneDrive to back up photos and videos to the cloud. Now after seven years this partnership is coming to an end. As Microsoft has confirmed, support for OneDrive integration will end on September 30, 2026. However, it seems like Samsung is jumping the gun and ending support for some prematurely.

Without any warning, the option to sync with OneDrive in Samsung Gallery is silently disappearing. As saimiguru According to the report, you can no longer enable this feature in newer versions of the app. However, if you already have the option enabled, you will be able to continue syncing with Microsoft’s service until the end date.
Although Samsung Gallery is discontinuing its integration with OneDrive, you will still be able to use the service for media backup. However, you’ll need to adjust your Camera Roll settings and download the OneDrive app to do so. To install it you need to follow these steps:
- Open the OneDrive app.
- Log in with your Microsoft account if you’re not already logged in. This may differ from your Samsung account.
- Tap your account profile at the top left of the app.
- Select Camera Backup.
- Make sure the correct account is selected.
- Turn on camera backup.
- Grant access to photos and videos when prompted.
If you don’t plan to use OneDrive going forward, Microsoft warns that all photos stored in OneDrive will disappear from Samsung Gallery, unless you have the original file stored on the device. These files will still exist, but you’ll have to use the OneDrive app or visit the website to access them.
