Dior transformed the retro sneaker into something contemporary. The new Dior Ribbon sneaker collection, designed by Jonathan Anderson, absorbs history and turns it loose into an easy-going, vintage-tinged shape.

Ever Anderson fronts the campaign, and she brings a dreamy, cool-girl ease to the shoes. The images remain close-up and spontaneous: styles captured in detail, steps into the sunlight, poses not meant to prove anything. The sneakers feel personal rather than precious.

The shoe itself layers technical fabric, suede, cotton and leather in a somewhat textured but light colorway. On each side, signature Dior ribbons nod to the J’Edior design, transforming the usual sneaker stripe into a graphic, feminine line. dior name Surfaces on the tongue, heel, insole and ribbon, while the sole features the house’s Canaz motif.

The campaign plays on style contrast for the imagery. Cream and beige pairs well with loose denim, ribbed socks and soft tailoring. A black pair symbolizes a flowing printed dress. A pink version peeks out from under the dark trousers. It’s dior in the blink of an eye and made for the sidewalk.
