Short is having a difficult IPL season with Chennai Super Kings. He has batted mostly at number four or five rather than his usual opening role and has had limited chances this season.
In two matches against Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals, he scored 36 runs at a strike rate of 97.30. He has not taken any wicket and has given 39 runs in his bowling spell.
