For now, the new day is no more. Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods have left WWE.
According to CBS, the exit marked the end of one of WWE’s iconic tag teams.
It is noteworthy that the time of exit has come after many superstars left WWE.
The trio first came together as a team in 2014 and quickly became fan favorites with their antics after WWE rebranded them as Black Gospel Superstars.
During their tenure, as a team, they won 13 WWE-branded tag team titles, making them the most successful tag team in company history.
that’s not it. For the SmackDown Tag Team Titles, The New Day has the most titles with seven. While on Raw, they had the longest reign with the Tag Team Titles.
In addition to being a hit team, The New Day similarly utilize the ‘Freebird Rule’ – which allows them to choose who defends the belts.
Still, his exit came as a blow after Big E got injured, forcing him to take early retirement in 2022.
However, before The New Day, Kingston had a renowned career, particularly in WWE.
In 2008, he was part of the roster. The wrestler won four intercontinental and three United States titles.
Kingston and Woods join the list of 16 superstars who were recently released from WWE.
