After the death of famous television show producer and writer David Kendall, a process of paying tribute has started. Boy meets the world.
For those unaware, Kendall died on May 2, 2026, at the age of 68. Instagram account of Pod Meets World, Formerly run podcast boy meets world Stars Rider Strong, Will Friedle and Danielle Fishel confirmed the sad news of his passing.
He paid an emotional tribute to the late American television director and screenwriter, highlighting his legacy and influence.
He wrote, “To say that David Kendall was instrumental in the creation of Boy Meets World would be an understatement. He directed, wrote and executive produced our show, but also helped mold some of TV’s most memorable sitcoms, from Growing Pains to Hannah Montana.”
“In addition to helping develop the young creative voices of Danielle, Will, and Ryder (as both a peer and later mentor), he worked with stars like Austin Butler, Zendaya, Miley Cyrus, and the Jonas brothers in the early stages of their careers.”
He admitted to being “devastated” after losing “such an important person” in his life.
“We’ve all kept in touch with David over the past 30 years, and are honored that we were able to share his incredible personality with our Pod Meets World listeners. We’ve lost an important part of our family — but we ask that the next time you watch the show, especially Seasons 2 and 3 (when he served as showrunner), you think of our dear Kendall,” it concluded.
It is noteworthy that Kendall has played an important role in giving Hollywood stars like Zendaya, Tom Holland, Miley Cyrus, Jonas Brothers and Austin Butler.
