Nick Jonas has spoken openly about his acting and singing career.
Speaking with People Magazine, the Jonas Brothers member revealed the one thing he does before singing and avoids doing before acting.
“I mean, at the end of the day it’s the same thing. You’re doing a performance, you’re opening up the walls of your personal life and experience for everyone to connect with,” said Jonas, who stars in the film Power Ballad with Paul Rudd.
He said, “The only difference is, and it’s not really that interesting, but the only difference is that before the show I’m relaxed. I can have a little cocktail, keep the atmosphere right. For a scene, I’m not doing that.”
Referring to the pre-scene cocktails, Jonas said that he and Rudd “never did that.”
“But that’s only because it’s really hard to find wine in Ireland,” Rudd said.
Additionally, Paul Rudd and Nick Jonas also shared elsewhere in the interview what they learned from each other during the filming of the power ballad.
Rudd said, “I learned that you can be an incredibly talented musician and still be the coolest, coolest person. Nick, that’s who you are.”
He added, “And you have a real way of conveying emotion without saying anything and showing what your character is thinking, which is the best thing to be able to do when acting.”
Meanwhile, Jonas added, “I mean, one of the most exciting parts of stepping into this movie with you, but especially any acting project I’ve had the privilege of working on, is that you learn something from everybody.”
He added, “And (Rudd) mentioned some stories about working on set with Jack Nicholson and other people you’ve worked with. It’s great to see that even at your level and with your experience, the ability to be a sponge is still there, and I tried to do that with you.”
