Emma Slater has finally addressed the rumors that she is leaving Dancing with the stars.
During a recent appearance on SiriusXM Three Questions with Andy Richter In the podcast, the 37-year-old pro dancer discussed her thoughts on when she might retire dwts.
“How much time do you think you have left on Dancing with the Stars?” Andy asked Emma. “Because dance is a cruel business in terms of ageism.”
The professional dancer replied, “Totally, and for the ladies too! I want to go through this as long as I can.” “I’ve had the most incredible career.”
“Actually, last week someone came up to me and said, ‘Are the rumors true??’ And I was like what rumor?? He said ‘Are you retiring this year?’ And I could see how that kind of rumor would start, because they’re looking at me like I’m an old girl,” she added. Just Jared.
Emma also said that she wants to stay on the dancing show “as long as possible”.
“As soon as I feel like I’m getting tired, I’ll end the ageism thing – ‘This is what Hollywood does to women as they get older!'” Emma said.
Additionally, the British choreographer clarified when she wanted to leave DWTS on her own terms.
The dancer shared, “I want it to be my decision. But I’ve decided that I will expect to be there, and if and when they say I’m no longer invited, I’ll get over it when that happens.”
“I think in my mind, you put limits on yourself saying how many years do I have? I’ll just keep going. And then try to remove that limit on myself until I use what they’re finding, and then I’ll try to stick in some other form. The brand is doing great, and I love producing. So maybe I can make myself a producer or something,” Emma said.
For those who don’t know, Emma joined dwts in season 14 and earned promotion to pro by season 17.
