Iran has vowed revenge and said it would bring management of the vital Strait of Hormuz “to a new phase.”
It came as Iranians flooded the streets of Tehran to mourn the death of slain Ayatollah Khamenei.

New supreme leader Mojtaba Khamenei reportedly said Iran is not seeking war, but will not give up “its rights”, according to a statement read on Iranian state TV.
The statement said: “Iran is not seeking war but will not lose its rights and considers all resistance fronts as a unified entity”.
But the new Ayatollah has not been seen since his appointment, with rumors that he is in a coma.
The statement instructed residents of the rogue nation not to leave the streets, despite “negotiations with the enemy.”
