Tate McRae recently got candid about how much she struggles with fame and how it can be quite “scary and overwhelming” at times.
The 22-year-old pop star has made rapid progress in recent years, but Tate admits she still struggles with the pressures of fame and success.
When asked if he had ever been misunderstood by the public, Tate told billboard, “So many different ways.”
“As a woman, you just have to understand that you’re going to be under the microscope constantly, and sometimes that’s a really scary and overwhelming feeling. But on the optimistic side of it, with the scrutiny and the opinions and people’s assumptions about you, it leads to a lot of growth and doubling down on who you are,” she explained.
Greedy The singer continued, “I could say that people’s comments don’t affect me, but they definitely do. I’m a girl. I have feelings and sensitivities and insecurities. For people to comment on your body or comment on who you are or have a perception that’s completely different, it sucks.”
The musician added, “But for me, I’m just here to make art. Trying to explain myself is a game I can never win.”
Tate began her career as a dancer before she turned her attention to making music and the chart-topping star admitted that she had a “very specific approach” at the beginning of her music career.

I want to write at this speed. I want to do it in a hockey rink. I want it to be aesthetic.’ I could see it all in my mind.
“It was about gathering the right people around me to make it a reality. Sometimes you get signs and messages telling you where to go in life, and you ignore it. And then eventually, it becomes the most intense feeling in your stomach, and you wake up and say, ‘Okay. There’s no more time to waste,'” Tate McRae said while talking about moving forward on her path to fame.
