D4vd’s family comes out in support of the singer following his shocking arrest.
For those unaware, the ‘Here With Me’ hitmaker was taken into custody on Thursday on suspicion of murdering a teenage girl, Celeste Rivas Hernandez.
The decomposing remains of a 14-year-old girl were found in his Tesla in September.
In a statement to Rolling Stone, D4vd’s lawyers said that the singer’s parents, David Burke and Colleen Burke, are uniting behind their son.
“The parents are saddened and disappointed that David was arrested, however, they stand completely behind him and believe he is innocent,” family attorney Kent A. Schaefer told the outlet. “They fully support him.”
Earlier, D4vd’s lawyers, Blair Burke, Marilyn Bednarski and Regina Peter, released a joint statement regarding the singer’s arrest.
“Let us be clear — the actual evidence in this case will show that David Burke did not murder Celeste Rivas Hernandez and that he did not cause her death,” he said in a statement to TMZ.
The lawyers said, “No indictment has been returned by any grand jury in this case and no criminal complaint has been filed. David is detained only under suspicion. We will vigorously defend David’s innocence.”
