TL;DR
- Fake units of the iPhone Fold have surfaced along with the phone’s case.
- Unlike the square look of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide, the iPhone Fold’s design is expected to feature curved elements.
- The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide is reportedly inspired by the iPhone Fold, but launches a few weeks before it.
leaker Majin on X Recently shared images show new dummies of what appears to be an iPhone folded. The images appear to be sourced from case suppliers, who may have started making cases for the iPhone Fold long before the official announcement. The dummy appears to be based on the leaked dimensions of the iPhone Fold.
The foldable is rumored to be just under 5mm thick when opened, and the unit in the image appears to be in line with that.

There are a few other elements that we are seeing for the first time, and they pique curiosity about the foldable. The leaked unit also shows a bulge behind the hinge, but it’s difficult to confirm whether this will lead to the actual phone or not. I personally feel that these are meant to hold two separate slabs in place, although I could be wrong.

Secondly, the edges here are slightly curved, like on the iPhone 17 Pro, not as sharp as the Galaxy Z Fold 7 or the leaked Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide. While there’s a long power button on the side, which is expected to double as the Touch ID sensor, the volume buttons are placed at the top, creating a tall edge when faced with the iPhone.
Apart from these, Majin has also shared images of a some cases The iPhone is already designed for the Fold. While one case appears to have magnetic rings around the back, it’s still unclear whether the iPhone Fold will support magnetic wireless charging or skip it as the iPhone 16e did. However, with the phone expected to cost more than $2,000, it would be a shame if Apple actually chose to do this.
Based on previous leaks, the iPhone Fold will have a 7.76-inch internal “crease-free” folding display and a 5.5-inch external display. On the back, we expect only two cameras, as opposed to the iPhone 17 Pro’s three, to save space inside the chassis. The iPhone Fold is said to be powered by Apple’s A20 chip.
