    A dialogue is being organized President of the General AssemblyAnnalena Baerbock, who spoke to reporters Tuesday morning shortly before the first session, said they marked an important step in the selection process, which, she said, comes at a critical moment for the United Nations.

    ‘The toughest job in the world’

    “The Secretary-General’s selection has wide-ranging consequences that echo far beyond this building,” Ms. Baerbock declared. “Our choices will shape the direction of the world’s unique multilateral organization and demonstrate whether the United Nations truly represents the more than eight billion people we serve around the world.Half of which are women and girls.”

    He described the selection of the next Secretary General as not only an administrative decision but also a statement of intent. “This will send a strong message about the views of the United Nations And how it seeks to address the challenges of today’s interconnected world.”

    Ms Baerbock declared, “In short, this is one of the toughest jobs in the world, but it is also one of the most important, because the next Secretary-General will not only shape the future of this institution, but will fulfill its role as its strongest protector.” UN CharterAlso of international rules-based order.
