It’s spring and it’s either the sunshine or the iced coffee I’m drinking right now that makes me feel good! Have you ever thought what a blessing it is to feel good? To spend a normal day? I actually think about this a lot and I certainly can’t be alone.
So here I am, feeling good, listening to Earl crow over the sound of the dishwasher and watching Finley take a nap on the sunny spot on the rug. David is taking a quick trip for work and the girls are at co-op so I’m just sitting, tasting and contemplating. Life is good. I am grateful.
Historically speaking, spring has never been my favorite season due to the pollen connection, but by staying consistent with our supplements (and starting early!), those troubles have been at a minimum this year. It’s allowing me to more easily embrace the beautiful weather and outdoor activities that make spring such a joyful season.
Sunshine is one of the things I’ve been loving lately (although honestly I’d appreciate a little rain right now). This post is a compilation of all the things I’ve been loving lately. Please feel free to chime in in the comments!
quince
Why is everything they make so good? Quality + comfort has recently made it my go-to brand. especially i’m wearing Linen Shorts and Fitted Tee Frequently. this casual dress Perfect for farmers market observation. And this watch band? I have received a lot of compliments on its looks and yet it holds up well even during workouts and chicken work.

walking the trail
The news in the hood is that there have been snake sightings, so I guess it’s that time of year again. However, we are lucky that we have some wide trails so Finley and I have stuck to them and remained aware. But animals aside, it’s a beautiful time to be outside! Greenery is growing in the world and the morning temperature is very pleasant. David is also joining Finley and me on our 2 mile morning loop – a great way to start the day! He is wearing his heavy vest. I don’t have. But maybe I’ll start taking it back out.

Masa Chips
As a tortilla chip connoisseur, I was sure I would love this Masa Tortilla ChipsBut really, they’re the best tortilla chips I’ve ever had. They’re made with organic corn, grass-fed tallow and sea salt – that’s it. They’re heavy enough for dipping, deliciously crispy, and just the right amount of salty. I used my code (AHEALTHYSLICE20) to buy more because we all loved them so much.

chicken fence
Sometimes I still can’t believe I have chickens, because it’s something I’ve dreamed about for a long time. Insert tangent about not letting fear of change keep you from getting closer (literally or figuratively) to the life you want to live.
The chicken fence is completely installed and David has just finished adding the hardware cloth so the chickens have a designated area to free range. Although this means there will be fewer surprise visits from Hehe at the front door, it’s good to know they aren’t hanging out in the neighbors’ yard. I go out several times a day to see them scratching around – and Finley can now come with me! It really makes me very happy.

dazzle dry
Did you all know about it? And you are adamant on me? When Mom and I were at Canyon Ranch, she used the Dazzle Dry System (The version that fills nail ridges) on us and over a week later my nails still look good. This is accompanied by countless dish washing, chicken chores and digging of the garden. The best part? When you use base coat, middle coat and top coat, it dries completely in just 5 minutes. i bought mini kit Get started because it includes everything you need.
I told my friend about it last week and she said: Oh yes, I love that thing. What?! Am I the only one who doesn’t know about this? I have been converted. I painted H and K’s nails last night and they loved it too. A non-toxic, gel-like finish without damaging the nail.

One on one time with my girls
Speaking of my girls, I’ve often had a tendency to lump them together. Even the way I talk about them- my girls. This has worked because often the three of us spend our days together.
One thing I’ve noticed I’ve really enjoyed lately is spending one-on-one time with each of them. This often happens while motivating them for their solo activities. They are at such a good age to have deep conversations and talk about life, it’s easier to go into depth on topics one by one because life can look quite different for a 14 year old versus an 11 year old.
My goal as a mom is to grow with each new stage of motherhood, appreciating what that stage brings and not focusing on the things we have grown up with. I can tell you with all honesty that these deep conversations about goals, friends, and interests become more meaningful over time and I’m thoroughly enjoying these one-on-one moments with H and K.

Hero Brand Tortillas
i’m stuck this tortilla. Each tortilla has 80 calories, 5 grams of fat, 7 grams of protein, 17 grams of carbs and 16 grams of fiber! And they taste soft and delicious, as well as sturdy enough to hold the internal filling without breaking or splitting in half, as many other “healthy” tortilla options I’ve tried have.
I’ve tasted their bread and know some people don’t like it, but I found it just fine. Tortilla though? I will never live without them! The best prices are found on their website and you can freeze them for up to 6 months. They’re a fun way to spice up breakfast or lunch with taco and wrap options. highly recommend.

Okay guys, that’s all I have! It’s time to clean the house, walk the dog, and get ready for the girls’ musical theater productions this weekend! Hope you’re having a wonderful day, and if there’s anything you’ve been loving lately – please share! 🙂
