King Charles’s god daughter is praising him for his visionary vision.
Lord Mountbatten’s granddaughter, model and philanthropist India Hicks, revealed that he always gave thoughtful gifts on birthdays and Christmas.
Speaking to Giles Brandreth on his Rosebud podcast, Hicks said: “He’s also an extraordinary godfather and very thoughtful, very involved, I have boxes of letters he would have written.
“He never forgets a birthday or Christmas and I think he has a lot of godsons – so he’s very thoughtful and I think you can see him being king.”
He said that His Majesty used to give him gravy dishes and other crockery items as gifts.
“It was so confusing to have a gravy dish for Christmas.”
She explained: “Again, I’ve always thought of the idea of thinking ahead as something that will mean something later in life.
“And I am the godparent of several godchildren and I take that as a huge privilege too – and I often wonder whether I can live up to the fantastic idea that someone would want them later in life?” He said.
