King Charles and Queen Camilla hosted a lavish state banquet at Windsor Castle in honor of Bola Ahmed Tinubu and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu.
The event brought together dignitaries and guests to celebrate the enduring relationship between the UK and Nigeria.
On Wednesday, the official Instagram handle of the royal family posted a photo of King Charles and Queen Camilla with the President and First Lady of Nigeria.
The caption reads, “This evening, the King and Queen hosted a state banquet at Windsor Castle in honor of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Mr. Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the First Lady, Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu.”
Additionally, ahead of the evening, Buckingham Palace gave a behind-the-scenes look at preparations for the event.
The video clip posted from the official handle of the royal family shows the king and queen inspecting the ongoing preparations.
The description in the caption revealed, “Final touches are being put to this evening’s state banquet!”
The caption further reads, “The tables are decorated with seasonal flowers and foliage selected from the gardens of Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle and the Saville Gardens of Windsor Great Park.”
It also revealed that after the banquet, “flowers that cannot be reused are donated to the Floral Angels, of whom the Queen is patron.”
The caption concluded, “The charity delivers flowers to hospices, elderly care homes, shelters and many other worthy beneficiaries in the local community.”
