Netflix CCO Bella Bajaria has said that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle still have projects in the works with the streaming giant.
His comments come days after Meghan’s lifestyle brand As Ever ended its partnership with Netflix.
“We still have a relationship with them. We have films in the works with them. We have a wonderful doc with them,” he said during a press event.
Bajaria said, “They have things in development in the TV and film space. Deals come and go all the time, and we don’t renew as many deals, they don’t get as much pressure for obvious reasons. There are no juicy stories there.”
The lifestyle brand was launched last year with Meghan’s Netflix show, With love, Meghan.
As Always was launched by Meghan last year and is financially backed by the streaming giant in a separate deal for its TV content.
A spokesperson for As Ever said she was grateful for the partnership with Netflix during the brand’s first year, adding: “We have experienced meaningful and rapid growth and As Ever is now ready to stand on its own.”
Netflix said in a statement: “Meghan’s passion for enhancing everyday moments in beautiful but simple ways inspired the creation of the As Ever brand, and we’re delighted to have played a role in bringing that vision to life.
“As was always intended, Meghan will continue to grow the brand and independently lead it into its next chapter.”
