Chappelle Roan is once again in controversy and will not be allowed to perform at Brazil’s free, annual international Todo Mundo no Rio festival held on Copacabana Beach.
Releasing a public statement, city mayor Eduardo Paes revealed on social media that he has taken strict action against the songbird and her team following a viral incident involving a young fan.
For those who don’t know, controversy arose when Jorginho shared details of the situation involving his wife, Catherine Harding, who was previously married to Jude Law, and his 11-year-old daughter, Ada.
On his official Instagram handle, the mayor of the city where the festival takes place wrote, “I mean as long as I’m in charge of our city – this young lady will never perform at Todo Mundo no Rio!”
Meanwhile, Roan has doubled down on the defiance as he used his time on the Lollapalooza stage to thank his team.
Reflecting on the end of his current tour, he said, “I’m very grateful so thank you and thank you to my crew and my security and my band and everyone behind the scenes, there’s a lot of people involved in this so thank you.”
