The radical power center in Tehran has used Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez’s anti-war comments, written in both English and Farsi, to link his words to a missile targeted at Israel, local media reported, as Iran continues its violent conflict with Israeli-US forces.Images circulating on Iranian media show this striking wartime message, highlighting how Madrid’s vocal opposition to the conflict is resonating far beyond Europe.The stickers, written in English and Persian, quote Sanchez: “Of course, this war is not only illegal, but also inhumane. Thank you, Prime Minister.”According to Iran’s semi-official Mehr news agency, the adhesive labels were placed directly on missiles launched from Iranian territory toward Israel.Imprinting messages on munitions is nothing new in this conflict. Earlier this month, Iranian state television broadcast photos of soldiers writing messages on missiles, declaring they would continue attacks “until the last US troops leave the Middle East”, according to Turkey Today.Sanchez’s words on Iranian weapons highlight the unusual position taken by the Spanish prime minister since the US-Israeli military campaign against Iran began on February 28. One of the few left-wing European leaders to condemn the attacks as “unjustified” and “dangerous”, Sánchez declared in a televised nationwide address that Spain’s position was “not for war”.
