On Wednesday, COS continued its series of impressive runway shows, unveiling the Spring/Summer 2026 collection in a bathhouse in Seoul, South Korea, with the stars of the Spring 2026 campaign, Alexander Skarsgård and Park Gyuyoung, sitting front row alongside Emma Roberts, Thai singer Mile Phakpham Romsathong and Korean singer Sohyun Kim, all of whom commanded a crowd of dedicated fans located on the outer edge of the venue. Attracted. City.
According to Karin Gustafsson, design director of the London-based brand, the film American gigolo (1980), starring Richard Gere and Lauren Hutton, was revisited during the design process for the spring collection. “I love effortless dressing that’s also elegant,” she told Who What Wear after the show, referring to the film’s acclaimed wardrobe. “So, (Spring 2026) was rooted in the classics, but it had that volume that made it simple in a way.” The collection’s name, “Cinematic Beauty”, was a direct result of the influence of film on its creation. “We really wanted to create this strong sense of a character.

To compensate for the ’80s trends in the film and its costumes, Gustafsson also looked to the ’90s, particularly the lean toward minimalism that the era is known for. Think clean lines and neutral colors, as well as silhouettes that are signature of the time, like pencil skirts and slinky knits. During the creation of the collection, Gustafson remembers listening to American music of the time, particularly the Pixies. “I love 90s music, so I always listen to it,” she says.

During the car ride from our hotel to the after-show party and dinner, everyone was thinking the same thing, scrolling through the collection on their phones that had just gone live. COS.com. Having spent over a month studying the fall runways after a particularly tough winter, it was like a reward to see such a light, airy collection — and everyone wanted to claim theirs before it was too late. Both of my favorite items had already received “low stock” notices – and they weren’t the only ones.
sell-out alert
When it comes to collectibles that are in danger of being sold, there are almost too many to count. In other words, nothing is safe, so you better act fast if you want to grab a piece of COS history. The first look, an all-white ensemble, made particularly impressive by the sculptural neckline on the poplin shirt, with only a few sizes left in stock. Another standout look next was the burgundy-leather skirt-and-top set, which is also flying off the shelves. According to Gustafson, you can never predict what customers will be interested in buying from a show like this. ”You have your favorites,” she says, ”but you never know what the audience will think.” Personally, she said of the wrinkled leather and silk pieces at the end of the show: ”I think they’re beautiful.”
’80s and ’90s nostalgia
The 40-look spring collection featured a mix of ’80s and ’90s references, from billowy suits to sleek, body-con dresses and transparent, knit fabric skirts that felt as playful and sexy as they were fabulous. The heavy silk pieces, both pressed and intentionally wrinkled, were especially expensive-looking and clean-cut, giving the collection a cool but polished appearance, which explains why so much of it has already sold out. Adding to this, I heard several attendees mention Caroline Bessette Kennedy’s style, given her recent success, was uppermost in the late Calvin Klein publicist’s mind when talking about the collection’s pieces. Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette. The minimalist color palette – cream, black, white and grey, with a few hints of blue and red – definitely fits into her signature minimalist wardrobe preferences.

Why Seoul?
“I think Seoul has that kind of effortless dress sense,” Gustafsson explains — the same thread that runs throughout the spring collection, and really, COS as a whole. “The street style here is very interesting.” You can see it on display at Hidden Street, where the brand hosted its showroom throughout the week before and after the show. Located in the Yongsan district, a block is shared with multi-floor space The boutique and café of Maison Margiela, the architectural shopping destination of Lemaire, and the popular luxury Korean brand Le 17 September. Countless restaurants, coffee shops, and stores surround this area, making it a mecca for anyone interested in authentic Korean street style. South Korea is also one of the brand’s biggest markets, which was evident from looking around its capital, with COS items proving easily recognizable to locals.
