US President Donald Trump has told Iran to “get serious quickly” about a peace deal with Washington or be prepared to face consequences.
“They better get serious soon before it’s too late, because once that happens there’s no going back and it won’t be good!” she posted on Truth Social Thursday morning.
The president described Iranian negotiators as “very aloof” and “weird” and said they were “begging” the US to reach a deal to end the nearly four-week war.
Trump’s comments come after contradictory statements from Washington and Tehran regarding the status of peace talks. The US has said negotiations are underway over a proposed peace plan, while Iran denies any direct talks with Washington.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi Allegedly He told state media on Wednesday that officials were reviewing a US proposal to end the war, but said Tehran had no intention of negotiating with the US.
He said the exchange of messages between the two countries through intermediaries “does not imply dialogue with the US,” Reuters reported.
