Kate Middleton is praised for improving herself with modern times.
The Princess of Wales was recently seen closing her car door in a departure from royals’ rules and etiquette.
Speaking about his new habit, former royal butler Grant Harrold said: “It seems like a small thing, but it’s very interesting as an example of how the royal family is evolving and becoming less formal.”
He says via Select Car Leasing: ‘
“At one time, opening and closing her doors without assistance would have been unheard of. You would never have seen the late Queen open her own door at public events. Of course she did it in private, but never at official events.”
Prince William and Kate Middleton believe the monarchy needs to be more accountable in the coming years.
The Prince and Princess of Wales are hoping to change the way things work in the royal institution after becoming king and queen.
Royal editor, Russell Myers, tells US Weekly: “Talking to people very close to William and Kate (Middleton), they have a completely different vision for the monarchy. It needs to be accountable, it needs to speak to the younger generation, not just at home, but abroad.”
Myers says: “It also requires creating a system that works for people and certainly what they’ve tried to do is get their family home life right and then work on the public profile and that’s very different to how the monarch has been structured in earlier generations.”
“There has been a lot of discussion for many years about a weakening monarchy and certainly, if you looked at what (King) Charles’s view of that was perhaps 10 years ago, (Prince) Harry would have been at the center of it,” he said.
