The young stars of the Harry Potter TV series got their first taste of fame when they arrived at a glittering party hosted by HBO.
The party was for the launch of the streaming app in the UK, and magician trio Dominic McLaughlin, Alastair Stout and Arabella Stanton headlined the event’s red carpet in London.
This marked the trio’s first red-carpet appearance, and so, there was more to come, but they were under a strict curfew.
As Variety reports, the child stars aren’t allowed to stay out after 7:30 p.m. However, their adult co-stars are bound by no such restrictions as they enjoy the night away.
Additionally, Hollywood megastars including Steve Carell and Lisa Kudrow attended the glamor event. Stars like Matt Smith, Amy Lou Wood and James Norton were also present.
Notably, the launch was timed to coincide with the release of the Harry Potter teaser online.
“This is a moment that was years, if not decades, in the making,” JB Perrette, CEO of the WBD, says in a speech.
Similarly, HBO CEO Casey Bloys says, “It’s a huge thing for us to be here. We’re proud to launch in the UK and Ireland and have our library and all of our shows available.”
However, the surprise launch has been hampered by questions about the future of HBO Max in the wake of Paramount’s winning bid over Netflix to acquire the studio’s parent company Warner Bros. Discovery.
