I’ve been debating for a long time whether or not to get lip fillers. The thing is, I’m afraid of needles, which makes the whole thing more difficult. So, over the years, I’ve tested some of the Best Lip Balm, Lip Plumper and Lip Liner to see if any of these products would help me look a fuller pout. Although I found a lot of favorites along the way, nothing gave results like the Dr. Dennis Gross DermInfusion Lip Tint.
You may have heard me talk about Dr. Dennis Gross before, as I’m a big fan of the brand’s LED masks and exfoliating skin care treatments. However, I had never tried the original DermInfusion Plump + Repair Lip Treatment, which is a clear lip balm/lip gloss hybrid designed to deliver a plump, glass-like finish in seconds. So, when the brand released tinted versions earlier this year (meaning you can get full-looking lips and a hint of color all at once), I was desperate to get my hands on them.
Luckily, some samples landed on my desk, and since testing them, they’ve rapidly become my favorite products, leaving everyone thinking I’ve quietly added lip fillers. In fact, my friends asked me one day if I’d finally bit the bullet and had lip fillers, and you should have seen their faces when I said it was all about this £26 lip balm. Dr. Dennis Gross DermInfusion Lip Tint Review
Formula
You might be wondering how a simple lip balm gives such noticeable results? Interestingly, in-clinic procedures inspired the formula, and, as you can see from the packaging, the product does indeed resemble an injectable treatment. It contains a powerhouse blend of hyaluronic acid, peptides (you know we love these) Peptide Lip Balm), Squalane, Bisabolol and Centella Asiatica transform dry, cracked lips to a plump, shiny state before your eyes.
Shades
This product was originally launched in a clear color, but there are now four color versions available, including light pink, beige, deep berry and rich chocolate brown. I personally opted for the light pink color because I wanted that “your lips but better” look. That said, I think a dark brown color would also look incredible for a 90s lip look.
application
As mentioned above, this product does not look like your typical Lip balm or gloss. Instead, it reminds me of an injectable treatment. To apply it, you click the base of the tube to give your desired volume, and the brand recommends starting at the full part of your lips and staying inside the border (sometimes I even like to use lip liner stain to outline my lips beforehand). Just note, like most lip plumping treatments, there may be a slight tingling sensation at first, but that feeling doesn’t last long.
Result
First
after
As you can see, this product plumps the lips while adding glossy, glassy shine and light color (not Needs lip stain). I’m honestly obsessed with before and after results. You can probably tell from the last photo, but my lips are incredibly dry, cracked and have a lot of fine lines on them. This product creates a smoothing effect and makes my lips look full and hydrated. It’s no wonder my friends thought I had lip fillers applied the first time I wore it. If you want a lip product that can do it all, so that you don’t have to keep lip balm, lip gloss and lipstick in your handbag at all times, then I recommend adding this to your basket asap.
