Lola Young has revealed that she has checked into a holistic treatment facility and has been “recovering from medications” since health concerns arose after she fainted on stage.
The Messy hitmaker canceled all of his upcoming planned shows after being escorted off the stage at the All Things Go music festival in New York in September.
Following the incident, Lola updated her fans via Instagram that she would be “going away for some time” to “work on myself”, also adding that she would be canceling her tour shows for the “foreseeable future”.
Now, Lola has spoken out about how her struggles with drug addiction and mental health were behind her worrying fall and subsequent step away from the spotlight.
She said her recovery is an “ongoing process” and she is doing “much better”.
Lola said, “I mean drugs recovery, yes. When you’re in recovery… it doesn’t necessarily mean drugs – but me specifically, yes.”
When asked where she was staying during her time away from the limelight, Lola revealed The Sunday Times Style Magazine: “What I can tell you is that I was taken care of.”
The singer later revealed that she checked into a “holistic facility” that focuses on addiction and mental health, and that she is now attending AA.
Lola also shared that she faced similar struggles while recording her 2024 album I’m Only F**king Myself.
“There were a lot of things going on for me personally – I was going through a lot of mental health issues, struggling with a lot of addiction,” she recalled.
Starr sang about her battle with cocaine addiction and her previous stint in rehab on her previous record, with lyrics describing herself as “a stupid little junkie…trying to quit snowflakes”.
However, despite the painful fall and past struggles, Lola Young said she is “so grateful that it happened” because it was the push she needed that pushed her to recover and “get a better future and better myself”.
