For spring 2026, designers are doubling down on their fascination with these dress-making skirts, and there are plenty of fresh styles on deck for the coming season.

    Yes, they are back! Throughout 2025, lace-trimmed skirts were the thing to know and spring ’26 is already trending in the same direction thanks to all the new iterations designers are bringing to life, each one somehow more attractive than the last. It’s a relatively small detail, but a single trim of romantic lace really helps modernize a dress.

    We can’t talk about skirts without talking about one of our favorite skirt styles of the moment, the knee-length style. They’re tailoring inspired by the ’90s, and give off a nice directional feel, especially when paired with a smooth heel.

    Wing! Fringe! sequins! If you’re going to take advantage of the maximalist trend of 2026, doing so with a textured skirt is the way to go, in my humble opinion.

    This spring is also putting a new lens on the classic slip skirt, a timeless hero piece that seems to ebb and flow with the trend cycle. These days it’s all the rage, with shrunken knee-length silhouettes taking over. However, regardless of the cut or color, fashionistas are styling slip skirts with simple T-shirts and flat shoes for an effortless vibe.

    If you ask me, the leather skirt is a forever wardrobe piece, so I’m especially happy to see how many great styles are emerging this season. The pencil-skirt shape, non-black color, and luxury croc embossing are the details defining the best leather styles right now.
