The Houthis in Yemen say they attacked Israel in collaboration with their backers Iran and Hezbollah in Lebanon.

Yemen’s Houthi rebels say they have launched an attack targeting Israel in coordination with Houthi-backed Iran and Hezbollah in Lebanon.
The three allies on Monday “launched a barrage of cruise missiles and drones targeting several vital and military sites belonging to the Israeli enemy,” military spokesman Yahya Sari said in a statement.

The Houthis, who control much of northern Yemen, joined the war on March 28 in support of Iran.
They had previously carried out attacks on Israel during Israel’s war on Gaza and targeted shipping in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden in what they said was a show of solidarity with the Palestinians.
Meanwhile, Israeli officials said the bodies of four people killed in an Iranian attack on a residential building in the northern city of Haifa the previous day had been recovered.
Hezbollah’s alleged role in the attacks comes as Israel continues attacks on Lebanon and says it is targeting the Iran-backed armed group.
The latest attack took place on Monday in Beirut’s southern suburbs. The Israeli military announced that it was “striking Hezbollah terrorist targets in Beirut”. Attacks have also been reported in the south of Lebanon.
On Sunday, the Israeli military said it had attacked two Amana petrol stations “which were controlled by Hezbollah and serve as critical financial infrastructure supporting the group’s activities”.
In south Lebanon, the health ministry said four people were killed in a car raid in Kfar Rumman, near the town of Nabatieh.
The state-run National News Agency (NNA) also reported deadly attacks elsewhere in the south and east of the country, including the Tire District village of Burj Rahal.
Lebanon’s health ministry said an Israeli strike on Monday killed a paramilitary member of the Hezbollah-allied Risala Scout Association.
It also said that two paramedics from the Islamic Health Committee had been killed in an Israeli attack a day earlier.
World Health Organization chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said on Thursday that WHO had “confirmed 92 attacks on health facilities, medical vehicles, personnel and warehouses”.
“These actions cannot become the new norm,” he said.
The strike on Sunday took place near the country’s largest public medical facility in Beirut’s Janaa neighborhood, killing five people, including a 15-year-old girl and two Sudanese nationals, the ministry said.
Also on Sunday, an attack on the town of Ain Saadeh, east of Beirut, killed three people, including two women, officials said.
The dead also included Pierre Mouawad, a local officer in the Lebanese Army, the Christian wing of Hezbollah’s staunch opposition, and his wife, an incident that threatens to further stoke internal divisions over Hezbollah as Israel’s attacks spread into new parts of the country.
Lebanon says 1,497 people have been killed since the war began, including 57 health workers.
