Rebecca King-Cruz, the wife of Terry Crews – a famous host – was at her bedside, suffering from the horrors of pain that come with Parkinson’s disease.
“I didn’t sleep for three days (due to the illness),” she tells People, “and I felt like I wanted to die.”
When the pain became unbearable, Rebecca prayed for a miracle.
Enter her husband, who was by her side during her sleepless nights and had good news to give her.
It’s about a new, FDA-approved treatment used to treat Parkinson’s disease. She took them.
Now, eight months later, Rebecca sheds light on her situation.
“The only reason I’m going public is so I finally have some encouraging information to offer,” the 60-year-old notes.
Focused ultrasound, a new non-invasive treatment, has given Rebecca relief from the uncontrollable tremors she has endured in her 16-year health battle.
However, before getting her first shot of relief, Rebecca faced a brutal journey.
It started with a series of unseen signs: numb toes, dragging feet, and memory loss.
But what set off serious alarm bells was the shivering she felt one day, which made her realize she was facing a serious problem.
Although Rebecca’s symptoms baffled doctors for years, in 2015, a fatal diagnosis was made; Thus, it was confirmed that he had Parkinson’s disease, just like his grandmother and uncle.
As fate would have it, this was the beginning of Rebecca’s other nightmares.
He suffered a devastating blow when he was diagnosed with breast cancer, causing Terry’s wife to undergo a double mastectomy in 2020.
In her difficult times, she shares that her husband stood by her and says, “Terry is my rock.” And I thank God that He has the means to take care of me, that I can go to doctors and get the procedures I need.
Terry and Rebecca share an enduring union. The couple got married in 1989.
