- Motorola’s Razr Ultra 2026 is rumored to bring back the familiar wood finish this year; However, its color is slightly darker with the nickname “Pantone Cocoa Wood”.
- The foldable is also rumored to have a new blue-violet color, which may debut under the name “Orient Blue Alcantara.”
Rumors keep surfacing about what Motorola’s next Razr line could offer, and this time is no different, as the leak talks about additional finishes.
Earlier today (April 8), tipster OnLeaks, along with android headlines, Found out what Motorola might be planning for the Razr Ultra 2026, and one conclusion is familiar. Immediately, what is proposed is that Motorola could return (again) to the wood-grain finish brought by the company for the 2025 Razr Ultra. The alleged rendering shows this wood finish, which appears slightly darker than what we saw last year.
Initially, it can only be seen as a rendering effect where the wood finish looks like deep. But the leaker suggests that Motorola could brand it as “Pantone Cocoa Wood”. If so, that would explain why it looks a few shades darker than the old Ultra’s wood-grain. We are still able to see the wooden lines flowing vertically on its rear panel, giving us the same feel we are used to seeing.

OnLeaks continues to explore, stating that Motorola may launch a new “Orient Blue Alcantara” colorway for the 2026 Ultra. The render shows grooves on the back panel, forming small diamond shapes all over. This colorway feels closer to blue-violet. Once again, rumors claim that Motorola could launch the Razr Ultra 2026 and the rest sometime in April.
moto wood also do it again
It’s been over a decade since Motorola first introduced it The Moto There were rumors that the company would bring it for Razer Ultra 2025, and indeed it happened. The company called it “Mountain Trail,” which makes sense. Pieces of polished wood, as my colleague Namrah Saud Fatmi said in her overall look at the 2025 Razer Finish. It’s these finishes that set it apart from the standard glass backs that Motorola has always seen.
Recent rumors suggest this may continue, as Razer 2026 is reportedly sporting “fabric” and “carbon-fiber” textures, as well as a mysterious third option. Additionally, it looks like the Razer 2026 is expected to launch in Hematite, Bright White, Sporting Green, and Violet Ice colorways. The Razer Ultra, like the base model, is not anticipated to receive any major design changes. So, this means we will likely see its 4-inch cover display and 7-inch internal screen once again, along with a horizontal dual camera array on the front.
Android Central’s Tech
Imagine carrying around a wooden phone. Obviously, it’s not completely wood, but the finish is definitely different. We’re used to always having smooth, if not slippery, glass backs. What Motorola did last year, and what it is rumored to do again in 2026, is offer something different for those who might be tired of the same old thing. Since we’re seeing rumors of “Pantone Cocoa Wood” going away, what would a darker, almost wine-red wood phone look like?
