TL;DR
- The launch date of Galaxy Z Fold 8, Wide Fold and Flip 8 has been leaked.
- According to a Korean news outlet, Samsung may launch these devices on July 22.
- Additionally, the event is expected to be held in London instead of the usual venues.
Samsung’s upcoming foldable launch slated for 2026 is just a few months away, which is why leaks about the devices are gaining momentum. Last month, we saw the first set of visuals that suggested what the Galaxy Z Fold 8 might look like, as well as others comparing it to Samsung’s new form factor, the Galaxy Z Wide Fold. Now, we are learning more details about the event where Samsung will be showcasing these devices.
Korean media recently reported that Samsung has finalized the location for its next Unpacked event, where it will unveil the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Flip 8, and possibly the reported Wide Fold. According to news outlets korea economic tvSamsung is planning to host the event in July this year, in line with its usual launch cycle.
However, what is unusual is the location of the launch. Samsung usually holds its Unpacked events either in its homeland, South Korea, or in the US. However, this time the Galaxy Unpacked event may take place in London. The report highlights that London is a major business hub for Samsung, in addition to being where it has its headquarters for the UK and Europe.

The report also shared the exact launch date, suggesting that Samsung will unveil the next three foldables on July 22. Last year, Unpacked was held on July 9, and the year before that on July 10. So the change at the end of the month is interesting. Although there is no reason for the later date, it could be due to a change in the timeline due to the delayed launch of the Galaxy S26 this year.
Among other improvements, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 is also expected to come with a slightly larger battery and faster charging than the Fold 7. Since both the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 were redesigned last year, we don’t expect major design changes in the upcoming generation. Meanwhile, little is known about the successor to the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE, the cheaper flip model introduced last year.
