Natasha Lyonne has just alleged that she was “detained” after being escorted by ICE officers from a flight from Los Angeles to New York following the Euphoria season three premiere.
The 47-year-old actress has now taken to social media to address the incident, confirming that she had taken Lunesta, a sedative used to treat insomnia, before the plane took off.
Natasha wrote on That ICE had other plans and detained me instead. Thanks for all the love and support. Never had a problem with @TSA. Sorry for our unpaid @TSA workers.
However, a spokesperson for the Department of Homeland Security, under which the TSA operates, has refuted the actress’ claims.
The spokesperson said People magazine, “Neither ICE nor TSA rescued or detained Natasha Lyonne.” Delta, on the other hand, has not yet made any public comment.
The actress had previously addressed the incident in a vague post on social media and referenced the situation without sharing specific details about what happened.
The Hollywood star, who has battled drug addiction in the past, wrote on Twitter to her official ex, ex, “My heart goes out to all the unpaid TSA agents at our airports. Was definitely hoping to have an honest talk with @DrewBarrymore yesterday, but guess not. (sic)”
