I was in school even at the age of 15: Kieron Pollard praises Vaibhav Suryavanshi
Meanwhile, the entire cricket world is celebrating Vaibhav’s success, but legendary West Indies all-rounder and Mumbai Indians batting coach Kieron Pollard has issued a serious warning.
Pollard said that he is really impressed with what the RR openers are doing, and this early success is exciting, but at the same time, he also feels that it could be dangerous if not handled properly.
Kieron Pollard said in the press conference before the MI vs RCB match, “At the age of 15, I was still in school, playing club cricket. But, again, it’s exciting. It’s very exciting to see, you know, a young man taking the world by storm. And he’s using his youthful exuberance to his advantage. And long will that continue for him. And, you know, for Indian cricket as well.”

Amidst this turmoil, Kieron Pollard has issued a big warning.
Kieron Pollard has pointed out that young players like Vaibhav often get huge support and applause when everything is going right, but when they go through bad times, things change dramatically and that is their fear.
Currently, the Bihar player’s timing is sharp, his confidence is sky-high and his fearless approach is working, but as the tournament progresses, the bowlers will find new plans and new weaknesses and try to stop him. And Pollard feels that this is the real challenge for Vaibhav.
The great all-rounder further explained his point: “We continue to nurture the talent. And we just have to continue to encourage him. One thing I always say is, ‘Let’s not be on the bandwagon when he is here.’ And if you have some failures, and people pick up on that.”
Pollard said, “Then we just move out of the way. And we forget all about him. I think that’s the biggest fear for me as a person, being a cricketer. That we go along with all the hype. And then when something happens. And so, again, he’s a talent. He’s doing well. And that will continue for a long time for him.”
